Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship 2022 for students
The government of India under Waste to Wealth Mission announced an opportunity for Indian school students, college students and citizens to contribute into nation-building. Objective of the fellowship is to empower young innovators to engage themselves in community work related to waste management, waste awareness campaigns, waste surveys etcetera, as a ‘Swachhta Saarthis’ and to work on the implementation of actions to reduce waste for a greener world
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility is divided into 3 major categories:
- Category-A: School students from 9th to 12th standards engaged in waste management community work.
- Category-B: College students (UG, PG, Research students) engaged in waste management community work.
- Category-C: Open to Self Help Groups or sanitary workers.
Selection Criteria
- Relevance of the work already done by the applicants
- Innovative solutions implemented in their activities
- Practicality for replication of the activities undertaken
- Engagement of the peers/community
- Proposed action plan for a year
- Expected outcome and impact
Remuneration in these 3 categories
- Category-A: An amount of Rs. 500/- per month for a period of 1 year.
- Category-B: An amount of Rs. 1,000/- per month period of 1 year.
- Category-C: 2 citizens from the same Self help group (at max) can apply an amount of Rs. 2,000/- per month for a period of 1 year.
