DRDO Young Scientists’ laboratory for smart materials Junior research fellowship 2022

Defense Research and Development Organization is inviting application for the DRDO Young Scientists’ laboratory for smart material which is dedicated to develop the smart material technology solutions for the national defense.

The specialization areas of the laboratory include accelerated materials development, micro-robotics and stealth technologies

DRDO is looking for Four (04) Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) who can work on various projects in the areas of materials informatics and computational materials modelling for accelerated material discovery and application of smart materials to micro-robotics and stealth technologies.

Eligibility Criteria

Metallurgical/ Material Science Engineering

B.E./B.Tech. with First Class in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering and a valid GATE score (OR) M.E./ M.Tech. with First Class in Metallurgical Engineering/ Materials Science and Engineering (and first class B.E/B.Tech. in the same subject)

Preferably applicants with Proficiency in programming languages and knowledge of materials modelling techniques

Mechanical Engineering

B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with First Class with a valid GATE score (OR) M.E./M.Tech. with First class in Mechatronics / Robotics & Automation and B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with First class.

Preferably applicants Working knowledge of finite element packages, basic electronics and instrumentation

Procedure:

Eligible candidates are required to email the duly filled application form (Annexure–I to III; Check DRDO website > What’s New) along with self-attested copies of degree certificates, GATE score card, caste certificate and other applicable proofs (in a single pdf of not more than 10 MB) to jrfsm2022@gmail.com within 21 days from the date of publication in the Employment News. In addition, the candidates should also submit details at https://tinyurl.com/jrfsm2022.

The applications will be disqualified if either the scanned application or the online form is not submitted.

Screening of eligible applications will be based on GATE score, marks secured in degree, fulfilment of desirability criteria and relevant work experience (if any). The GATE score should be valid as on the date of application in the aforementioned subjects only.

Post screening, the list of shortlisted and waitlisted applicants will be announced in DRDO website.

The shortlisted candidates will be informed of the date, time and particulars of the web-based interview via e-mail. The shortlisted candidates should confirm their attendance for the interview via email at least three days before the scheduled date.

Based on the online interview, a Panel of candidates for the anticipated vacancies will be drawn, valid for a period of 1 year. However, empanelment doesn’t entitle any candidate to an offer of fellowship, which is contingent upon occurrence of vacancies during the year. Director, DYSL-SM reserves the right to not select any candidate, if suitable candidates are not available.

If selected, the candidates will be required to produce certificates/proofs in original for verification at the time of joining. No TADA will be paid for joining

Remuneration: Rs. 31,000 per month
