Young Leaders Fellowship 2022

The Young Leaders Fellowship Program is open to all young people between age 18 – 26 from all over the world who are interested to address social and community projects in the fields of education, health, and economic security. This is a fully funded US program so all the cost of the courses under this program for one year is covered under the fellowshipThe program aim to involve all the stakeholders to work together inorder ro have an impact on communities through innovative ideas and concrete projects.Due to covid-19, the implementation of the program fully virtual through e-modules, Zoom discussions, and virtual one-on-one learning between mentors and mentees.MCW Global’s Young Leaders Fellowship begins with the Community Needs Assessment – A followed by one-month intensive Virtual Program that will help them become leaders of positive change in their communities. Now for next 10-months young leaders will be working on developing their action plans with support from alumni mentors.

Eligibility criteria

  • Commitment towards the society
  • Candidate must have identified a project in their community in the area of education, health, or economic security;Age of candidate should be 18-26 at the start of the program (July 1, 2022);l
  • English language fluency in both verbal and written.
  • Complete the Community needs and requirements Assessment over the summer, attending the one-month Virtual Learning program, and spending the following year aiming to execute their project;
  • Must have the access to email and internet to allow for consistent communication with the MCW Global Team for the duration of the year-long program;
  • Adhere to Young Leaders Access Program graduation guidelines

Timelines

  • February 7, 2022: Application opens
  • March 13, 2022: Fellowship application closes
  • April 8, 2022: First round decisions, shortlist candidates notified; second-round application
  • April 24, 2022: Second-round closes
  • May 16 – June 3, 2022: Interviews
  • June 10, 2022: Acceptances
  • June 24, 2022: Confirmation of acceptance
  • July 1 – July 31, 2022: Needs Assessment
  • August 5, 6, and 7, 2022: PART I – Virtual Modules
  • August 10, 11, and 12, 2022: PART II – Virtual Modules
  • August 22, 23, and 24, 2022: PART III – Virtual Modules
  • August 5, 2022 – July 1, 2023: Young Leaders Fellowship duration.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • The application should be in English.
  • Letters of recommendation and resumes.

Essay topic for the application

  • Identify an issue in soceity that concerns you. How you can address this issue?
  • Describe one time you have faced a challenge and used a leadership skill to come up with a solution.
  • Your resume must be of 1 page only. (Times New Roman, 12 font, with 1-inch margins).

2 Letters of recommendation

  • Letters have to come from people who know your work ethics from your society or community. Friends and family members are not allowed.
  • Details of people making recommendations include name, position, contact info, and relationship to the applicant at the top of the letter.
