IISER Junior Research Fellowship
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali invites applications the position of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from postgraduate degree holders. The fellowship is meant for the Air Pollution research project funded by MOES entitled Real time Ambient Source Apportionment of Gases and Aerosol for Mitigation (RASAGAM)” in the IISER Mohali ACE research group led by Dr. Vinayak Sinha
Eligibility
MSc or MTech in Data Sciences or Atmospheric Sciences or Physics or Chemistry, Computer Sciences with any of the following approved GATE or CSIR / UGC as JRF / NET Appropriate Background to Chemistry airborne and / or chemical box model (e.g. by F0AM, Capram or isoropia) experience or editing or mathematical analysis or coding or analytical instruments and / or prior knowledge about combinations of dynamic organisms in the atmosphere and aerosol chemistry can be beneficial.
The project will involve hard field work in New Delhi-NCR region. The nominee will work on the separation of the source and the chemical transport models and air quality equipment. Candidates must be willing to do field service that includes source samples close to the source material. The work is physically demanding, and the candidate must be physically fit. Therefore, it is important for the candidate to be very enthusiastic and passionate about air pollution analysis and research as these results will contribute to provide evidence-based decisions about gas and aerosol pollution in Delhi.
Stipend
Rs 31,000/- per month and SRF provision of Rs 35,000/- per month after 2 years under satisfactory performance and HRA in accordance.
Duration
Starting from 1 year, extension is subject to satisfactory performance up to an addition of 3 years and the opportunity for promotion from JRF to SRF after 2 years is subject to effective performance. Termination notice period is 1 month.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview.Important Note- It should be noted that the selection of the JRF project does not guarantee selection in the IISER Mohali PhD program and does not result in graduation. Students working for the JRF project who wish to graduate must apply for the PhD program separately , qualify the eligibility process and must clear the PhD admission selection process in order to register for the PhD program at IISER Mohali.
