Bhumi Fellowship Program 2023

Bhumi is one of the Wide-reaching voluntary organizations in India. Since 2006, the organization has provided young people with a platform to serve society and bridge the gap between the educated and the uneducated. Our volunteers and staff teach and mentor children in orphanages, slums and villages, community centres and low-income schools across the country, building a better future for them and for our country. Bhumi’s educational programs are currently operating in 12 cities across India.  The Bhumi Fellowship is a paid, full-time, two-year program that develops educational change makers to lead the next movement in the public education system. Focused on holistic child development, the Bhumi Fellowship Program will help you create an ecosystem within your school that empowers school leaders and teachers to equip students with the knowledge, workability and resilience to excel.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Actively strive to improve student learning outcomes by teaching at least 12-15 hours per week.
  • Support teachers in innovative teaching methods and train them to achieve superior learning outcomes for students.
  • Create a culture of collaboration, learning and love within Principal’s leadership skills.
  • Improve the leadership skills of Headmasters/Headmistresses
  • Identify challenges facing the school or community and design strong and lasting solutions.
  • Make effective connections between the community and the school to increase community awareness of education.

Eligibility

  • Graduate in any degree, Educational degree is preferred.
  • Proven record of excellence
  • Leadership Skills – Ability to lead and take initiatives
  • Ability to build and invest in relationships ∙ Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Excellent Writing and communication skill (ability to speak in Tamil is compulsory)
  • Good knowledge of computer and MS Office skills.

Duration

The duration of the Bhumi Fellowship Program,2023 is 24 months i.e., 2 years.

Remuneration

Your monthly grant for Fellowship will be INR 25,500 (Rs 25,500) during the Fellowship period. The price includes a stipend of INR 5,500 covering rent, laptop, mobile phone and stipend. Upon successful completion and graduation from the Fellowship, you will also be eligible for a Fellowship start-up fund of INR 1,00,000 (one lakh rupees). This fund aims to support the post-graduation aspirations of Fellowship recipients. If you discontinue your Fellowship before the stipulated two academic years, you will not be able to claim this amount.

Scope

Full time, Fellows will be reporting to Bhumi’s Fellowship Program Manager.
